• bell tents are similar to yurt tents / ger and are essentially canvas tipi tents sitting on vertical canvas walls

• provide better standing had room than tipi tents
• often have low ventilation mesh windows for improved ground level ventilation
• can be used as hot tents (tents with wood stoves inside)
• large ones are great for events such as weddings

• generally very heavy (25-40kg), and much heavier when wet
• take longer to set up and pack up (especially if wet or windy)
• often only have one door which is very limiting
• usually have a centre pole as with most tipis which limits space utilisation
