Panasonic Lumix G7 Micro Four Thirds camera
introduction
- announced May 2015 as a substantial update to the Panasonic G6 camera with the following changes:
- adds a true twin-dial control design
- improved 2360K dot EVF with 21mm eye point (was 1,440K with 17.5mm eye point in the G6)
- 50% brighter LCD
- improved burst rate
- adds the Depth from Defocus technology (DFD) introduced in the Panasonic GH4 4K video stills camera for faster AF with Panasonic lenses
- AF tracking improved by adding motion vector tracking as well as subject color tracking
- AF now down to -4EV and ability to AF on bright stars even using a slower shutter speed for AF in Starlight AF mode
- adds 100Mbps 4K video at 24/25/30p with 8mp stills from video as well as 28Mbps 1080 50/60p video modes
- improved electronic shutter now to 1/16000th sec
- popup flash not as powerful (GN 6.6m at ISO 100 instead of 8.3m)
- no NFC - need to use a QR code to pair to smartphone via WiFi
- improved Venus Engine
- improved 16mp sensor
