Introduction
- Alexandra is a central Victoria rural town on the Goulburn River just downstream of its outlet from Lake Eildon
- the river is generally quite cold (as the outlet is from the deeper levels of the lake) and is often quite a fast current but one-way kayaking, small motor boats can be used
Getting there
- just under 2hrs from NW suburbs of Melbourne via Yea by either Whittlesea or via Yarra Glen
- for those living in eastern suburbs, access via Healesville and Taggerty may be faster but you do have to go through the Black Spur
