Although the CEELY family is not directly related to me, they are intimately connected to the Brill family. Thus I have included them here for completeness.
George William CEELY was born c 4th July 1862 in Taradale, near Castlemaine, Victoria to parents James CEELY and Isabella Eleanor GARDINER
- He married Eliza Jane GUMBLETON on 27th Jan 1894 in Narrandera, NSW.
- He died on 14th Sept 1928 in Narrandera, NSW and was buried with his wife in Ganmain Cemetery, NSW.
- His father James CEELY b. c1835 d. 1896 in Narrandera, NSW
- His mother Isabella Eleanor GARDINER b. c1837 d 1895 in Narrandera
  - her father John GARDINER
  - her mother Isabella
Eliza Jane GUMBLETON was born 6th March 1874 in Narrandera, NSW.
- She died on 16th June 1921.
- Her father was Henry GUMBLETON b. 1848 in Cambden, NSW and Eliza's mother was Charlotte DRAKE b.1853 in Kent, England
  - according to research by Annette Letson, the GUMBLETON's came from Wiltshire, England.
Robert CEELY (c1856-1942) is presumably an older brother of George William CEELY given details from his obituary and here:
- born in Bendigo, early childhood in Rochester, Victoria.
- he had at least 2 sisters:
  - G. NOYO? in Ruffy
  - W.H. GIBBS in Hay
- selected land at Ruffy, Victoria before moving to Derain as a farmer and founded Derain's 1st cricket club, being a good cricketer, particularly noted for his batting.
- married Joan CHAMPION of Bendigo
