Nikon D6 sports dSLR

Introduction

Nikon announced its D6 update to their flagship sports dSLR cameras in Feb 2020 with expected availability April 2020
this announcement follows the release of the marginally cheaper but far better featured Canon 1DX Mark III which has more cross-type AF points, faster burst rate and far better video BUT perhaps the new Nikon AF system may be better - we will have to wait and see!

20.8mp full frame sensor (same resolution as the Nikon D5 pro dSLR)

up to 14fps burst shooting with 'E-type' lenses (those with electromagnetically controlled diaphragms)
in Live View, silent electronic burst rates of 10.5fps at 20.8mp, 30fps at 8mp, and 60fps at 2mp (does not match the 2016 Olympus OM-D E-M1 mark II as 60fps at 20mp and with minimal rolling shutter at that).
all-new autofocus system with reduced number of AF points down from 153 to 105, but now all are selectable and cross-type and and each uses a 'triple-sensor arrangement' and sensitive down to -4EV (centre point down to -4.5EV)
AF coverage is '1.6x denser than that of the D5' and with 15 of the central points being F/8 compatible
rear screen is 3.2“ 2.36mdot fixed touch screen
4K 30p video and 1080HD 60p with focus peaking
no longer supports Compact Flash cards but has dual XQD / CFExpress card slots
