Canon EF 200mm f/1.8L lens
introduction
- introduced in 1988 as the EF version of the contemporarily introduced CanonFD200mmf1.8
- discontinued in 2003 due to Canon's decision to abandon lead glass for environmental reasons, and eventually was replaced by the Canon EF 200mm f/2L lens released in 2008 which gives closer focus and adds image stabiliser and standardises the rear drop in filter to 52mm instead of 48mm

- tripod ring is too far forward for balance and prevents reversing the lens hood

- nicer bokeh, less vignetting and CA at f/2.8 than the Canon EF 200mm f/2.8L lenses at f/2.8
