Introduction

a thermal stove fan is a fan which you place on a hot stove and the heat from the stove generates the fan motion which then can blow warm air across the tent
does not require batteries

How it works

the base plate radiator and vanes are generally made of aluminium and have good thermal conductivity
the temperature differences generates electricity to drive the motor for the fan which can generally blow air about 3m
the fan must be placed on a thermally conductive surface of a stove, usually near the side or back but not in front of the chimney
the higher the temperature, the faster the speed

Working temperature range

starting temperature range is usually 85-110degC
usual working temperature range is 85degC to 345degC
stove surface temperatures above 345degC may damage the fan so if temperatures rise past this, you need to remove the fan from the stove - BUT remember the base of the stove fan will be very hot so it needs to be placed on a safe metal surface to avoid burns
