Introduction:

• 2hrs drive from Adelaide, covering 300km of Murray River from the eastern border of SA to Blanchetown, lying east of the Barossa and Clare Valleys
• before huge locks were constructed in the 1920's, riverboats plying the river encountered drought & floods making the journey risky. The water flow is now managed by locks, 6 of them  in SA.
