Samsung NX mirrorless camera system

introduction

  • following the popularity of the Micro Four Thirds system, in 2009, Samsung entered the mirrorless camera systems market with their NX camera system based upon an APS-C sized sensor - the same size as Sony NEX E-mount camera system and thus has the same problem in requiring substantially larger lenses than the Micro Four Thirds system system and thus like Sony, misses the whole point of designing compact mirrorless cameras.
  • as with Sony, there is a very limited range of AF lenses designed for this system available despite it being in the market place for over 5 years now.
  • the NX sensor is 1.5x crop factor and lens mount has a flange distance of 25.5mm
  • manual focus only adapter for Pentax K mount lenses
  • NX lens mount won’t accommodate a Metabones Speed Booster for full frame look
  • see mirrorless camera systems for a comparison of the systems.
