reviews
-
- extremely sharp in the centre even wide open, significantly softer at edges, sharpest at f/2.8
- -0.38% of barrelling
- v. low CA
- produces very impressive results, images are crisp and clean and visually very satisfying.
- resistance to flare is excellent
-
- some vignetting
- nice bokeh
-
- comparisons with the Olympus 12mm f/2 and Olympus 7-14mm f/2.8
- nice bokeh but cats-eye squashed oval shape bokeh highlights at their maximum apertures
- much better closer focus magnification than the Olympus 12mm f/2 as lengthwise covers only 124mm compared with 171mm on the Olympus even though both are rated as close focus 0.2m
- less distortion than the Olympus 12mm f/2
- sharper edges even at f/2 compared to the Olympus 12mm f/2, but similar in the centre
-
- excellent apart from flare into direct sunlight
-
- de-centering and coma issues on their copy
- sharpest at f/4; 1.5EV vignetting wide open
