Introduction
- the Godox / Flashpoint radio remote flash system specs are:
- 2.4GHz band
- up to 100m
- 5 groups of lights
- 32 channels
- now TTL and HSS compatible
- multi flash mode
- flash exposure compensation in TTL mode
- remote power output control in manual mode
- remote flash zoom control
- sync delay 0-10msec
- firmware upgradeable
- Any of the brand-specific Godox lights designed for Canon, Nikon, and Sony all (such as the V860II-N, AD360II-C, and TT685S) can now function as remote radio TTL/HSS lights regardless of the brand triggering them so long as the master signal matches up with the camera brand.
- in 2017, Godox added units compatible with Micro Four Thirds system and cross-platform compatibility

Quick set up for wireless remote flash
- ensure a unit capable of acting as a transmitter is on the camera's hotshoe (eg. a suitable Godox flash or Godox transmitter)
- turn this on and ensure the comms mode is set to wireless (antenna displays on LCD) by pressing the far right button
- set the channel as desired
- for a Godox slave flash, ensure it is turned on and the comms mode is also set to wireless as above and the channel is set to the channel of the transmitter and then assign a Slave flash Group (A/B/C)
- on the master transmitter unit on your camera you can then control the settings for the slave flash by adjusting the settings for the flash group (A/B/C) - if the master transmitter unit is a flash then you set its settings to the M group.

Godox smartphone app to control light settings remotely
- The Godox smartphone app must be paired with a Godox A1 flash trigger via Bluetooth and then can be used to:
- set the light outputs of each group of lights on each radio channel, including LED lights
- provide control over multi-flash stroboscopic settings
- use the smartphone's camera to take a shot and trigger the lights via the A1 transceiver
- When used in conjunction with a camera with an X1T transmitter, the X1T will need the August 2017 firmware which presumably allows a mode whereby the X1T transmitter's power settings are not used, but it is only used to trigger the lights when the camera fires - the power settings instead are controlled via the smartphone via an A1 transmitter

- gives 1EV more power when using 7“ reflector and same spread of light (although same output when tested with Godox vs Profoto softboxes)
- has shorter flash durations and less shot-to-shot variation in output level (B1 had +/- 0.1EV)
- is lighter, smaller, much more affordable and with much more affordable lighting accessories

- these can be used with the 6.2kg Godox LP800x inverter at around $AU995 which has a user replaceable 12Ah lithium ion battery with 3 AC outlets which can thus power 3 flash heads and can give 750W continuous power or 1400W peak power. Also has DC outlets 11-15.5V and 3 USB sockets for USB charging. Can give 500 full output flashes on a 600W/s flash (buy a 2nd battery to double this).
- for comparison, a 100Ah lead acid battery will weigh around 38Kg and cost about $AU300, then add in a 1000W continuous power pure sine wave AC inverter with dual AC outlets but no USB and no DC outlets at around $AU500 and weigh a further 5kg (3.6kg for a 600W version), which are not easily transported on location for any distance by one person 2)
