I have included the Molesworth family as William Farnham MOLESWORTH (1873-1923) married Ellen SMITH (1887-1965), a grand-daughter of one of my ancestors, Jennyfer Ann "Jane" BRABYN (c1794-1871)
note that the strange numbers I have included below correspond to the family numbers in the gedcom file which I have manually transposed into wiki format as there is no gedcom to dokuwiki converter available (although one day I might create one).

Sir Robert Molesworth (1806-1890)

born in Dublin, Ireland in 1806
Called to Irish Bar in 1828
was one of the many Irish lawyers who came to Australia during the “gold fever.” He was a native of Dublin and an alumnus of Trinity College. For twenty years he had practised in Ireland, where he published a law book which attracted much attention. Molesworth, who continued on the Victorian Bench till his eightieth year, was a great Equity lawyer and may be said to have formed Australian mining law. For a brief period he acted as Chief justice. His son Hickman, brought from Dublin as a child, was also a capable Victorian judge for over twenty years.
Irishmen have not been as prominent on the Bench in the mother colony (New South Wales) as they were in Victoria.

Judge Hickman MOLESWORTH (1842-1907)

Judge of the insolvency court Victoria Australia
was the preferred defence Attorney for Ned Kelly, the Victorian bush ranger, and much effort was made to gain his services by the Kelly family. While at the same time the police and Government went to great lengths to prevent Hickman from defending him.
