  • improved, intuitive dial wheel
  • new operating concept via mode dial and short-cut button – as simple as a smartphone
  • new format of the menu now resembles the E-M1 Mark II, but simpler
  • for simplicity, rear arrow buttons now assigned functions which cannot be changed
  • AUTO mode (formerly iAUTO) has been fundamentally revised -it now recognizes blurs caused by camera shake even in the dark
  • Scene (SCN) mode has been extended
    • six themes with predefined settings
  • new Advanced Photo (AP) mode to give quicker access without resorting to the menu for:
    • Live Composite, Live Time, Multiple Exposure, HDR, Panorama, Keystone Correction, Exposure Bracketing, or Focus Bracketing
