• the Canon R full frame mirrorless system was introduced mid-2018
• the system is directly compatible with flashes (Speedlights) designed for the Canon EOS camera system and seems to work fine with Godox X 2.4GHz radio remote TTL flash and lighting when using their Canon triggers even in TTL mode

• the Canon RF mount has a lens flange distance to the sensor of 20mm (the same as Micro Four Thirds system) which means it will NOT be possible to mount lenses designed for Sony NEX E-mount camera system, Sony FE E-mount full frame lenses, Micro Four Thirds system or Canon EOS-M EF-M mirrorless system

• there are a multitude of MF adapters which will fit Canon EF mounts and can be used with the above Canon EF to RF adapters to allow most dSLR and legacy film SLR lenses to be adapted, but Leica M 35mm camera system lenses and Canon FD lenses will not be possible via this route as these will need a direct adapter to get infinity focus
