Homful bird-wing style two door tent

Introduction
- 2024 model Z01035 but does not appear to be available on the Homful website anymore
- two poles which cross over each other twice creating an X at each end
- doors are sloping in towards the ceiling which can be an issue if you need rain protection but want to have visibility or ventilation (you may need to add a tarp or place under a gazebo)
- supposedly strong in winds and for snow conditions (if they have a narrow ceiling and are otherwise built strong enough for wind and snow)
- standing height 4P foot print best for 2-3P in summer
- single wall tent with floor, two large dual mesh/fabric doors and a mesh/fabric ceiling with a small roof fly and two dual mesh/fabric end windows
- great affordable compact option for fair weather summer camping when heavy or prolonged rain or strong winds are not predicted
- rain can be addressed easily with an additional tarp and poles to create an awning over a doorway
- flooding can be addressed by ensuring tent is not set up where water will collect, or add a ground sheet which wraps upwards and clamps to the corners of each pole to create an additional bathtub effect
- stronger winds could be partly addressed by adding extra guys to the centre of the poles over the doorways
- hot sun can be partly mitigated by using a black blockout tarp suspended above the tent if it cannot be set up in shade
- ie. bring a 3 x 3m tarp to go over it (and tarp poles, guys, pegs)!

Review
- very easy to set up
- high density black mesh is very reflective which gives privacy from torches
- can be used with a 1P or 2P inner tent such as Vidalido Land Yu 2Persons TC Cotton S-T139 Tent or 3f UL Gear TC cotton Kangaro inner tents
- will even fit inside a Mobi Garden Guan Tu V (On The Road V) hot tent / gazebo with just enough room for a wood stove, but rear door becomes impractical
- a good option for warm weather camping
- HOWEVER you will need to use a tarp over it to cover the doors or put it under a gazebo if rain is forecast and you want visibility or ventilation as the doors slope inwards towards the top
Pros
- affordable
- easy to set up - only two poles which slide in and out of the sleeves easily
- good privacy options - all windows and doors have two layers (even the large ceiling mesh) - mesh and fabric, and fabric layers zip up from the bottom which gives the best privacy options
- excellent ventilation as long as it is not raining (would need a tarp set up to allow ventilation and rain protection)
- spacious large enough to fit the 1P or 2P black inner tents (eg. 3f UL Gear TC cotton Kangaro inner tents) sideways or long ways for extra versatility, privacy and warmth
- can almost stand up at 1.65cm height
- built in floor so can be used as a stand alone tent in most conditions
- large ceiling mesh for viewing night sky and improving ventilation in warm weather
- seems to be good quality with very strong poles and seam sealed
- best for 1-2 people but could fit 4P at a squeeze
- much lighter and more compact than a 4P fast frame tent but lacks blockout and a vestibule
- for example a 4P Fast Frame tent is usually 2.2×2.4m x 1.9m high and weighs 15kg but you get the full blockout fly and extra vestibule area
- easier to dry out than a 4P fast frame tent
- could make a nice large inner tent for the Mobi Garden Guan Tu V (On The Road V) hot tent / gazebo
Cons
- need an additional tarp set up for ventilation and visibility when it is raining
- only 2 guy outs (one at each end) may limit its capabilities to withstand strong winds) - you could potentially guy out the centres of the poles above the doorways
- cannot create privacy and still have floor level ventilation - this is the compromise with fabric doors and windows which zip from the bottom
- the large mesh doors roll up at outer bottom exposing them to dirt and damage
- you need to open BOTH door zips to get in or out if both layers are zipped up
- shallow bathtub floor means more dirt likely to enter and risks flooding
- no vestibule or awning - you will need to set up a tarp for that
- not suitable for a wood stove
- a similar design but with a stove jack but no floor is the 4P version of the Penglai tent
- as it has a floor you cannot have a shower inside it
- not as versatile or storm resistant as the larger NatureHike Dune 7.6 hot tent but much cheaper, less bulky and lighter
